Nine local cattle breeders attended the event at the company’s plant in Goiânia
São Paulo, September 18, 2019 – The Brazilian Association of Nelore Breeders (ACNB) and its Goiás Nelore Association (AGN) has announced the winners of the 10th stage of the Nelore Quality Circuit, which was held at the company’s plant in Mozarlândia.
Nine cattle breeders took part in the event, where 1,186 animals were assessed, split between 981 males and 205 females. “The males weighed an average 21.6 arrobas. 74.4% had up to 2 permanent incisor teeth and 51.5% presented uniform or median fat cover. The females weighed an average 13.6 arrobas, 79.7% had milk teeth and 78.5% had uniform or median fat cover”, said Gustavo Callejon, an ACBN technical advisor who was ersponsible for the assessment.
The best male carcass lot winner (Gold Medal) was Alexandre Funari Negrão. The Silver Medal went to Edgar de Almeida e Silva Júnior, while the Nova Piritinga Farm took Bronze.
The best female carcass lot went to Adair Araújo de Freitas. Célio Delle Donne Luchiari took Silver and Rodolfo Reis e Melo won Bronze.
Nelore Quality Circuit
The Nelore Quality Circuit, which is organized by the Brazilian Association of Nellore Breeders (ACNB), supports and promotes pure-bred meat and genetics to help increase productivity for Brazilian cattle farmers. The initiative gauges producers’ results based on their local environment and production system.
This year, Friboi and Matsuda are sponsoring the event that began back in 1999. The company’s involvement has doubled the size of the event, which will have 27 stages across 10 states. By the end of 2019, the Circuit will assess a record 20 thousand carcasses.
